Tongue Piercing of 6 months?

I have my tongue pierced and the underside of my tongue around the ball looks all puffed up like the meat/skin is trying to grow over it and theres a little white residue on a part of the uprised area but i dont know if its an infection or is it something to wade out! There is no pain associated with it I can touch it (not smart i know) but its not sore in anyway! Any one have any ideas?
